Enterprise Hubs

The Northwest FE Enterprise Hubs have been established to develop the skills, the knowledge and understanding of enterprise among teachers, tutors and young people from clusters of primary and secondary schools linked to FE Colleges. By raising awareness, the Hubs will encourage a culture of enterprise within the region, growing the number of entrepreneurs in the future and increasing the economic potential and success of England’s Northwest. The Hubs will also enable individuals to engage in lifelong learning and hold the skills and flexibility to adapt in an ever changing employment market.

The FE Enterprise Hubs project, which is funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), will build on the successful Northern Way Enterprise in Education project (NEEP), which operated in schools and colleges across the North from 2006-2008 and is managed in the Northwest by Enterprise Advisor Service Northwest (EASNW).

The role of the FE Enterprise Hubs is to create centres of excellence, to raise awareness of enterprise, and encourage children, young people and adults to take a ‘can do’ approach by developing enterprising attitudes and abilities, as well as encouraging enterprising actions and entrepreneurial activity both in commercial and social organisations.
